Moving around the holidays can be tough for so many reasons, but there is a way to make packing just a little bit easier. Have you ever considered having a holiday packing party? This is a great way to spend time with your friends and family while also having them help with your packing. It is what we like to call a win-win.
Here is how you can make this happen:
Create a guest list: If you want people to do you a favor like this, you should probably only invite people you know fairly well.
Schedule the packing party: The party should take place a few days before moving day. But be sure to give yourself a little wiggle room, in case you do not get everything completed during your packing party.
Invite your guests: Send out an email or an invitation card and be sure to follow up with your potential guests a few days before the party.
Prepare food and drinks: It is a party, after all. And no one works for free.
Plan what you want packed: Nothing is worse than packing without a plan. So think ahead and make sure that you know which rooms and what objects you want packed. Have assignments for each guest and provide a sample box to show them how you want everything labeled.
Have sufficient packing supplies: Ok, so maybe there is something worse than not having a plan…not having enough packing supplies. Be sure to have an abundance of different sizes of boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, packing paper and pairs of scissors.
Enjoy the party: Play some music, entertain your guests, and let the good times roll!
